We realize there are a LOT of questions when designing your sign project... What material is best? What size letters will fit in my space? What letter color or finish will look best? ...and the questions go on. At Sign Letters, we desire to help you get the right product and accomplish your sign design with as little stress as possible. To that end, we have listed some of the most common questions below, however, if you don't have your question answered here, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Yes, you can do this!

You CAN install our sign letters for a professional result! It really isn’t that hard. Once you have finalized the lettering you need and the mounting method that will work best for your installation, we will recommend a mounting template to assist in the installation of your lettering. The type of pattern will vary based on the mounting method that will be used for your lettering.

For letters using one of the Stud Mount methods, the Full Trace Pattern w/Drill Guide is recommended. This is a full trace of your lettering with spacing consistent between letters and words. It will also have the stud holes marked so that you know where to drill the holes in the wall or sign surface.
Plain, Pad or Double-face Tape mounts, typically only require a Simple Spacing Guide. This is simply a strip of paper with hash marks that keep spacing between letters and words consistent.
There are other installation patterns available for complex install situations. We are always happy to dicuss any irregularities in your project to ensure a professional result.

With a few simple tools...tape measure, marker, level, drill, caulk gun, silicone adhesive, etc... you can professionally install our sign letters yourself. You are always welcome to get in touch with us for last minute tips and instructions.

Do you stand behind your letters?

We extend the guarantee of the letter manufacturer, the Gemini Lifetime Guarantee.

Simply stated, if it breaks, fades, or otherwise fails, Gemini will make it right. This means that if any exterior rated product: letter, logo, or plaque ever fades or breaks, it will be refinished or replaced at no cost to you. Interior products are guaranteed in a similar manner, providing they have not had any exterior exposure. Confidence in offering this Lifetime Guarantee is because Gemini has tested the materials and coatings for prolonged exposure to salt, moisture, heat, and UV.

How long does it take to produce my letters?

Most letter products ship within 10 working days after final art approval.

Injection Molded (2 - 3 business days typical)
Formed Plastic (5-7 business days typical)
Cut Acrylic (5-7 business days typical)
Laminated Letters (5-7 business days typical)
Cast and Cut Metals (8-10 business days typical)

These are standard production times after final art approval. Some finishes may take a little longer & there are times when production can run a little longer depending on the work load in the plant. If there is a specific date letters are needed "in-hand", this needs to be communicated when ordering. If we can accomodate, we will obtain a shipping date with enough buffer to ensure an on-time delivery.

Do you only have standard letters or do you offer custom?

We have many Standard options to choose from, however, when you need to recreate your specific logo, we can custom produce it for you. Custom is offered in all of our cut metals, acrylic and laminated materials. We also offer custom in the cast metals and thermo-formed plastic. Can you Rush my order?

We do NOT rush production on any of our products.

We live in the real world, and we realize that sometimes the "Sign" is one of the last things that people think of or budget for. We get it... it’s grand-opening time, or there is a special ceremony, and you needed that sign lettering installed... yesterday.

Our sign letter products are produced to order and we hold that production to high quality standards. We simply will not sacrifice quality for rushed orders. We are, however, happy to quote expedited shipping methods for any order.

What is the best mounting method for my letters?

The best mounting method will vary with different letter product types and the specific installation requirements. Letter size will also play a part in the mount method choice. Some letters can be simply glued in place with a 100% silicone adhesive, while others would best be installed using one of our stud mounting methods (threaded rods placed in the backs of the letters). For the stud mounting methods, holes are drilled in the mounting surface, filled with a 100% silicone adhesive (or an epoxy) and the letters, with the studs on the backs, are then pressed into these holes.

Can I return my letters if I do not like them?

Our sign letters are produced to order and should be considered non-returnable.

We produce an order "at your command" and usually have no ability to re-use letters which are returned. There are some instances where we can make an exception, such as for use as samples, and we may be able to accept a return. The credit amount is typically only 30% of your letter cost & we do not refund any shipping and handling charges. In any case, if we can accept a return, we will need to issue an RMA (return material authorization) number. You are responsible for any shipping costs back to the plant. Items such as art charges, paint match charges and mounting patterns are not returnable.

What material is the best to use?

Material can be one of those choices that is subjective, like most finish choices. It depends on whether your lettering is for an exterior or interior application. For instance, our laminated letters are NOT recommended (nor guaranteed) for exterior installation. All other lettering, Cast and Cut metals, Injection Molded, Formed Plastic and Cut Acrylic all work great for exterior signage. Another consideration is the appearance you are trying to achieve (metal-look, 3D effect, glossy or matte, spcific color, etc.). There is also the consideration when using certain metals, whether it will hold up under salt air environments (within 50 miles of the coast). We have special recommendations for these situations. What size lettering will fit my space?

Sizing will be determined by the type style chosen and layout of design. You can either fill your available space completely or use a smaller letter size to leave some space (commonly called negative space or padding) around your lettering. With the exact measurements of the space you have, any desired padding around the design, the letter material & type style, we can assist in determining the available lettering size(s) that will work. What finish or color will look the best?

We can't really help you answer that question since it is really subjective. The simple fact is, what we think looks the best could be completely different than what you think looks best.
